REAL FICTION CINEMA – a box-office hit
Many a Swiss film-maker would be delighted with such a turnout: more than 71,000 people visited the Real Fiction Cinema in Zurich, Bern, Basel and Ticino. Next year, the temporary art installation by Littmann Kulturprojekte and Job Koelewijn will conquer the mountains as well as eastern and French-speaking Switzerland.

REAL FICTION CINEMA congratulates Niki Reiser
It is a great pleasure for us at Littmann Kulturprojekte to announce that the SUISA Foundation will award this year’s soundtrack award to Niki Reiser. Niki Reiser received the award for his original compositions for the film “Das Blaue vom Himmel” (directed by Hans Steinbichler). Littmann Kulturprojekte and Job Koelewijn wish to congratulate Niki Reiser on the occasion of this great honour and consider it a privilege to work with him this year in Locarno. Swiss soundtrack composer Niki Reiser arranged the soundtrack for the Real Fiction Cinema temporary art intervention on Largo Zorzi in Locarno. The soundtrack consists of 25 titles selected from his previous works, including three compositions from this year’s award-winning soundtrack for the film “Das Blaue vom Himmel” as well as pieces from his other soundtracks from such films as “Jenseits der Stille,” “Das fliegende Klassenzimmer” and “Alles auf Zucker.”

REAL FICTION CINEMA presented at the 2011 Festival del film Locarno
Yesterday evening, the official presentation of the Real Fiction Cinema temporary art intervention took place in the presence of Marco Solari, President of the Festival del film Locarno. In his welcoming address, Solari described the overwhelming emotional impact of his first visit to a Real Fiction Cinema in February this year. «It was one of thos exquisite moments that enrich our lives», he said. «The Real Ficiton Cinema project is a major boost for the Festival del film and for Locarno.» 7,988 people have visited the Real Fiction Cinemas at Largo Zorzi and Porto Regionale in Locarno and on the Piazza Torre in Ascona during the first five days. In comparative terms, that is already more people than visited the Real Fiction Cinemas in one month while they were in Zurich.

REAL FICTION CINEMA different opening hours in Locarno and Ascona
The three cinemas are as of now open for the public. Littman Kulturprojekte is especially pleased to collaborate with the Festival del film Locarno, which will provide active support to the temporary art intervention Real Fiction Cinema. REAL FICTION CINEMA in Ticino starting July 29th
For 28 days in June 2011 Real Fiction Cinema was stationed in Basel. During this period a record-breaking number of visitors was counted: 18,123 people visited the three cinemas. Next destination of the project is the Ticino: The three cinemas will be open for the public starting July 29 and are located in Locarno on Largo Zorzi and at Porto Regionale as well as in Ascona on Piazza Torre. Admission is free.

REAL FICTION CINEMA during Art 42 Basel
In the context of Art 42 Basel the art intervention's significance increases: During the international art fair the everyday life of Basel changes. The hustle and bustle outside the fairgrounds promises many movie moments. That is why Real Fiction Cinema changes its opening hours during Art Basel. From June 13th till 19th the cinemas will be open for visitors until 7pm daily.

REAL FICTION CINEMA - already more than 10'000 visitors in BaselThis afternoon Real Fiction Cinema Basel welcomed its 10'000th visitor. Martina Otto, gardener from Gottingen/Germany enjoyed discovering new perspectives: «It was wonderful: I was sitting in this mobile cinema and by doing so re-discovered the child within me.»
The intervention has so far wowed 29'281 visitors in total.

REAL FICTION CINEMA – In Basel from May 20th to June 19th
Basel will be the new film setting after Zurich and Berne with a total of 20'000 visitors and 66'600 minutes of film. Littmann Kulturprojekte is bringing Real Ficiton Cinema to Basel just in time for the international art fair. The three cinemas will be stationed during one month at the Aeschenplatz, the Claramatte and the Petersplatz.

REAL FICTION CINEMA with a Happy Ending
The anonymous painter was found: Peter Straub, janitor of a local school, and one of his collegues painted the cinema at Bruennengut, that was tagged with scenes of violence, white again. "There's already enough violence in this world", Straub says.
But this is not the only happy ending there was: the installation of Real Fiction Cinema in Berne ended last Sunday and exceeded the expectations of the organizators by far. Almost 12'000 people visited the the cinemas during their stay in Berne.

REAL FICTION CINEMA - 10'000th VISITOR
Only five weeks (4 weeks in Zurich, 1 week in Berne) and already 10'000 visitors! Theo Schmidt, Physicist at the University of Berne, has received a bottle of Champagne as the 10'000th visitor. He commented his visit in the cinema on the Grosse Schanze as a «5 star cinema». He has never experienced the Grosse Schanze as differenciated as he has through the window of Real Fiction Cinema. Suddenly he has seen things he would not have been consiuous in his workaday live.

REAL FICTION CINEMA - 1'500 visitors on opening weekend
Real Fiction Cinema opened its doors in Berne on February 25th. Almost 1'500 (1'474) interested visitors who watched their very personal movies were counted on the opening weekend.

The cinemas can be visited free of charge in Bern for one month at Grosse Schanze as well as at the Gaswerkareal (former gasworks) and the Brünnengut park.
Each of these "location shots" is unique, every moment worth seeing.

REAL FICTION CINEMA - after enormous success in Zurich now off to Berne
The first act of Real Fiction Cinema from November 18th until December 16th 2010 in Zurich, at the three locations Swiss National Museum, Turbinenplatz and Rote Fabrik, was visited by almost 8'000 visitors (7'836). In 2011 the Tour de Suisse will continue. Next stop will be Switzerland's capital Berne in February 2011.

REAL FICTION CINEMA - 5000th VISITOR
Great cinema in Zurich. Just under three weeks after it was opened, curator Klaus Littmann welcomed the 5000th visitor to the Real Fiction Cinema in Zurich at noon on Tuesday. Rita Baumgartner from Zurich was presented with a bottle of champagne to mark the occasion.

REAL FICTION CINEMA - IN ZURICH

REAL FICTION CINEMA - PREMIERE
On the evening of 17 November, the Swiss National Museum and Littmann Kulturprojekte extended an invitation to the REAL FICTION CINEMA premiere. 300 distinguished guests, mostly from Basel and Zurich, heard speeches by Andreas Spillmann (Director of the Swiss National Museum), Marc Walder (CEO of Ringier Switzerland & Germany), Thomas Vollmoeller (CEO of Valora), Job Koelewijn (artist) and Klaus Littmann before visiting the art intervention.
